Loyalty Beach, Cape York

As well as offering 4WD tours, guided fishing and hire boats, Loyalty Beach can arrange a number of trips and tours for you during your stay on the Cape including tours of Thursday Island and Horn Island, Helicopter flights, scenic water tours, and horseriding trips through the Lockerbie Scrub.

Island Tours ~

No trip to Cape York is complete without venturing into the Torres Strait to Thursday Island and Horn Island. Experience the culture of the Torres Strait Islanders by visiting the Gab Titui Cultural Centre, as well as seeing first hand the effect that WW1 and WW2 had on the Torres Strait. Visit Saranealis House, purchase a pearl or an artwork, and learn about the history of the area’s pearling industry. Grab a coffee and snack from the local cafe's and takeaways, or enjoy a meal and a drink at the selection of pubs and restaurants.

Transfers with the Peddells Ferry service from the Seisia Wharf depart daily (exc. Sunday) at 8:00am and return at 3:30pm. The Peddells Thursday Island Tour is currently priced at $N/A per person and includes your return ferry travel from the Red Island Wharf to Thursday Island, as well as a guided bus tour of T.I. and entry to the Green Hill Fort. The 2 Island Tour incorporating the Peddells Thursday Island Tour, and the Gateway Horn Island Tour is currently priced at $N/A and includes lunch at the Gateway Torres Strait Resort, entry to the Gateway Torres Strait Museum, and a comprehensive bus tour of Horn Island's historical sites.

This second option however is purely touring and does not allow for time to visit the Gab Titui Cultural Centre or the shops on Thursday Island. As such we recommend that those interested in seeing both islands include an overnight stay at the Gateway Horn Island Resort, which we can happily arrange.

Alternatively for those looking at extending their stay on old T.I., we can also provide you with information and contact details for the Federal Hotel, Grand Hotel, and Jardine Motel.

For convenience or enjoyment, why not leave your car at your camp for the day while you travel across the Straits? Loyalty Beach provides a return wharf transfer service for $10pp. Enjoy a cold beverage or two at any of the four pubs on T.I. and upon arrival back on the mainland, you’ll be transferred back to your camp hassle-free.
